Las Vegas 2007

While I personally would not have chosen Las Vegas as a vacation destination,
this was the first trip my Mom has invited us on, so I wasn't about to say "no".

Zack and I had a really good time hanging out together and Mom
had fun playing penny slots.  I can't believe I didn't get a picture of
her with Zack, though!  I was pretty distracted (lights, noise, people, keeping
track of Zack,  +PTSD, pain, social anxiety... a panic causing combination on a
good day!) and, although I toted my ancient digital camera everywhere, when all
was said and done, I realized I didn't take nearly as many photos as I'd
wanted.  * Sigh * CRS... what can I say?

No, I didn't gamble, either.  (Not that I wanted to!)

Here are the photos I managed to take:

Day 1

I think Zack would have been perfectly happy if
Sponge Bob had been the only "celebrity" he saw.  :-)

Another view of my Cheese Monkey

Zack in front of New York New York hotel
with Manhatten Express roller coaster
(yes, we rode it... twice... ugh...)

Lady Liberty
(Gotta' say she's almost as impressive
as the original)

Hmmm... Funny how he always picked
the cute green one...

Hamming it up with an M & M

Wow... what an assortment of colors!
(can you believe he didn't want any?)

M & Ms have a Nascar?

Had to get a picture on the way back too.

OK... just had to take the flag shot.

Day 2

Zack after "eating it" on an escalator on
the way to Brunch at the Spice Market
Buffet at Planet Hollywood (formerly the
Aladdin).  It was really good.

Oh, and I got an "I should have listened to
you, Mom" about not running! Thankfully
I had a bandaid.

This was the first show we saw at the
V Theater.  Zack got called up as a
volunteer and did a great job!  This was
a great show and we really enjoyed it!

Nathan Burton, two of his lovely assistants
and the cutest guy on the planet (of course,
I may be a little biased on that one).

Jessica, on the right, was Zack's "date" up on stage and when asked what he'd say if she
said she wanted to get married he said "I'd say 'What?'"

After the photo he asked Jessica if she was
wearing lipstick and then asked her to kiss his
cheek.  He sported her kiss all day and showed
it off proudly to everyone he saw (no, really...
just about everyone in Las Vegas!)

Make sure you catch this show!

We didn't make it out of the Popovich
show in time to have pictures taken so we did
it in front of his cutout. Zack just LOVED
the kitties! All of Gregory's critters are
rescued from the local animal shelter.

(Please consider adopting a pet at your local
shelter and always spay or neuter your pets)

Gregory Popovich's show is by far the best
show we saw for family entertainment.  He and
his troupe were simply wonderful!  His kitties &
doggies obviously adore him and he them. The
juggling, tumbling and well, everything was
really amazing.  A truly outstanding show!!

We bought his video on how to train kitties.
That should be fun!

Day 3

All smiles at brunch today because he knows he's headed for Circus Circus.

Taking a pause from miniature golf in
front of one of the corkscrew turns in
the Canyon Blaster roller coaster.
A little more dramatic with the roller coaster
whizzing overhead!   Zack rode this twice -
once on his own and once with my friend
Beverly's son, Kerry, and his friend Matt.

This is "Chaos" - another ride he rode
solo.  (I wasn't feeling well... but he still
would have done this one on his own!)
Captain Fearless as the ride slows down.

He's rider #4 on the "Sling Shot"   It shoots straight up...

...then comes straight down.   He looks scared, but he actually just got
ready to sneeze.

I don't know which smile is bigger.   Wow!  A rare picture of Mom on a ride!

Ah, what kind of vacation would it be if I
didn't indulge him by going to McDonalds?
* Sigh *
"Cheese!"

He said this one tickled... Niiiiiice kitty!!!!

In front of Circus Circus on our way out.   Not the best photo with the reflection off
the glass, but the guy in the middle is still
really cute!  In front of Riviera.

My FAVORITE picture taken on this trip!!!  Zack with Frank Marino as
Joan Rivers.  Frank is just awesome - a really nice guy... uh... gal... uh... guy-gal?
Seriously, he was so sweet and was great with Zack. La Cage is truly the best
show I've ever seen.  If you go to Vegas, you MUST see this show!

I just wish I could look this good in a red dress!!!

Honestly, I can't say enough about how much fun it was to see La Cage.  If
you can't make it to see it live, visit Frank's website and order a video!
I am!  Just too much fun!  Bravo!

Day 3 - After Dark

Volcano eruption at The Mirage   Oooh... pretty cool, actually.

This was a neat effect!   Well worth waiting 15 minutes to see, and
it really does smell like vanilla.

Although we took the bus to Circus Circus
in the morning we ended up hiking back to
the South Strip due to construction on the
other side of the street... We were pretty tired
by the time we got to the Eiffel Tower.

The Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel

View of NY NY and Excalibur from the top
of the Eiffel Tower.
A view from the base of the Eiffel Tower

Zack at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
We went up there for the view - especially to
watchthe fountain show at the Bellagio across
the street... of course, I was enjoying the show
so much I forgot to take pictures!! D'Oh!

Paris Hotel

The Excalibur is really pretty after dark.
Statue of Liberty after dark (duh!)

Two more shots of the Excalibur at night

Pictures of Zack and me at the shows

At the Excalibur's Tournament of Kings.  You sure can tell we're related!

He's just too cute... I had to buy every picture taken!

He was SO excited about seeing the performing kitties!  Not to mention this
was taken right after Jessica kissed him.

Isn't he just adorable???   I'm so glad he's my buddy as well as my son.
